Brendan is the author of The Almighty Dollar: 500 Years of the World's Most Powerful Money (Crown Currency, 2026). He is a Ph.D. candidate in Princeton University's Department of History, specializing in the history of finance, and a contributing editor at the Financial Times. Prior to Princeton, he spent twenty years as a journalist covering economic and monetary policy. He was US economics editor at the Financial Times, a staff writer for Bloomberg Businessweek and The Economist, and an anchor and correspondent for Bloomberg TV. Brendan holds a B.A. in German from Tulane University.
