Claudia is the founder of Sahm Consulting, which provides data-driven, independent analysis for fund managers, executives, and local business groups on the macro­economic outlook and the Fed and fiscal policy. Claudia is also Chief Economist for New Century Advisors, an investment management firm that partnered with its clients to develop and execute customized strategies to meet their unique needs. Prior to her current roles she was a section chief at the Federal Reserve, and she was a senior economist at the Council of Economic Advisers. Sahm holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Michigan (2007), and a bachelor’s degree in economics, political science, and German from Denison University (1998).
