Joseph Waldstein has been Managing Director for Quantitative Research and Risk Management, at SMN Investment Services GmbH, since 2021. He began his career in the alternative investment sector as a hedge fund analyst at HVB Alternatives. Other positions included HVB AI in New York and BAWAG AI in Vienna, each as a hedge fund analyst and fund manager for funds of hedge funds, respectively. In 2007, he took on the role of Senior Global Market Analyst at SMN and in 2014 became Deputy Head of Quantitative Research and Authorized Signatory of the company. He is a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) and FRM (Financial Risk Manager) charterholder.
