Patrick is Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Welton Investment Partners, the quantitative alternative asset manager he and Annette Welton started in 1988. He oversees the investment team and the firm's trend following, systematic macro, short-term flow and equity selloff protection strategies. He spent nearly twenty years as a clinical professor at Stanford University Hospital, much of it while running the firm, and has served on the board of the National Futures Association and on Managed Funds Association committees. Patrick holds a BA from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and an MD from UCLA, with postdoctoral training at Stanford.
