Rory Johnston is the founder of Commodity Context, based in Toronto, Canada. Rory focuses on data-first, visualization-forward commodity market research specializing in the oil and gas industry. The goal of his newsletter is to demystify the commodity industry. He does this by keeping the posts chart-forward and relatively low on the word count but data rich. Before founding Commodity Context, Rory was a Managing Director and Market Economist at Price Street Inc., worked at Scotiabank as a Commodity Economist, and was an Energy Analyst and Junior Energy Fellow. Rory earned a BA with honors in Political Science and Government from Queen’s University; and a Masters in Global Affairs and Global Capital Markets from the University of Toronto.
