Mike is The Economist’s Wall Street editor, leading coverage of topics across the American financial industry, and contributing to coverage of finance globally. He joined the paper as Asia business and finance editor in 2021, and was based in Singapore, where he wrote about capital markets, economic development and major corporations across the region. Mike previously worked for The Wall Street Journal in London and Hong Kong as a reporter and financial columnist. He earned his BA in History and Politics from University of Exeter.
